CAD Engineer

If you are a qualified CAD Engineer looking to advance your skills and knowledge, progress your career and work within a team focused on pioneering resource-efficient projects capable of accelerating the green transition to a circular economy, then reach out!

You will have a proven track record of progressing projects from design and development through detailed fabrication and production. In doing so, you will be proficient in project planning activities, the resolution of design issues and validation activities, and capable of ensuring that technical standards are maintained.   The successful candidate will have extensive experience in engineering, production and manufacturing. Previous exposure to marine and boat building programmes will be highly advantageous, but not essential.

 

The role: -

 

  • Management of CAD assembly structures.

  • Production of detailed drawings + fabrication instructions.

  • Fabrication and production optimisation activities.

  • Lead concept design processes and evaluations.

  • Project management and delivery.

  • Problem solving and 'fault-resolution.

  • Partnering with production and fabrication teams to provide advice, technical insight and ensure the effective management of in-build projects.

  • Monitor the progress of works and ensure that the timescales are met taking remedial action when required.

  • Ensure that technical standards are maintained in all aspects of design work in order that successful project implementation and future reliability is achieved.

  • Assist in the preparation of contract specifications for projects. Evaluate quality and technical accuracy of tenders and make recommendations to obtain the best available outcome for the company.

  • Assist in the forecast of resource requirements necessary for allocated projects in sufficient time to ensure that they can be provided.

  • Written and verbal communication will need to be of an extremely high standard as the role will require significant customer liaison and responsibility for information and data transfer. Off-site customer visits and occasional event support may be necessary.

 

 Experience in: -

 

  • CAD / CAM Engineering.

  • Fabrication and Production / Manufacturing.

  • Component design (using 3D CAD software) to complete and release engineering drawings in a timely manner.

  • Setting and operating CNC multi-axis machines.

  • Offline programming experience.

  • Solidworks.

  • Experience in a highly controlled environment (i.e. Aerospace, Defence, Automotive etc.)

  • Understand, and be able to perform a number of tasks within the team.

 

Hours

  • Monday – Thursday: 7:30am – 5:30pm (2 x 15 min breaks and 30 mins lunch)

  • Friday: 7:30am – 3:00pm (1 x 15 min break and 30 mins lunch, paid for by the company)
